We purchase polymer modified binders from the major oil companies, which are delivered hot in bulk tankers to Bolton.
Polymer bitumens are designed to improve the durability, its temperature susceptibility and its resistance to cracking and stripping when used in finished products such as mastic asphalt.
Polymer modified binders are used by Pure Asphalt in the manufacture of waterproofing, paving and flooring grades of mastic asphalt.
Ascoflex R988 P25®
We have recently launched a new mastic asphalt roofing grade designed to replace the old 'BS' standard roofing product R988T25, which was manufactured with 25% TLA binder (Trinidad Lake Asphalt). The new replacement product Ascoflex R988 P25® is to be sold at the same price, but will provide users and specifiers with an improvement in both low and high temperature performance characteristics.
