A selection of testimonials from just some of the many projects we have been involved in.

"Northamptonshire County Council started using Pacopatch routinely on every piece of ironwork within carriageway resurfacing schemes about five or six years ago. To date of the many hundreds of manholes and gulleys that have been adjusted using this system we have had one failure and that was attributable to causes other than workmanship or materials.

We have also been using the system for maintenance repairs to existing ironwork, particularly where we have had repeated failures in the past, ironwork of this type is invariably in locations that are heavily trafficked or are in particularly vulnerable locations within the carriageway. Again we have done well over one hundred of these and to date none has failed.

We carried out some trials three years ago using Pacopatch grout and precoated chippings to fill some longitudinal joints in hot rolled asphalt where these had degraded to the point that they were a hazard to motorcyclists, these were on heavily trafficked roundabouts over the A14 to Kettering that suffer badly from the effects of articulated vehicle trailers. We have tried many conventional and proprietary treatments, all of which failed within a relatively short period of time (sometimes hours). The Pacopatch repairs are still in place today and functioning well.

We are setting up our own gang to do minor repairs to hot rolled asphalt surfacing within the urban network in the county and results to date are looking promising".

"I wanted to write and confirm how pleased I have been with the Pacopatch material we are using. Repairs around ironwork in heavily trafficked roads have been an issue in Kent for some time. However well the repair had been completed, the toll of HGV volumes meant that the reinstatements had a limited life.

We stared a trial about two years ago with Pacopatch. This was focused on ironwork in vulnerable locations on busy HGV routes. I was very pleased with the initial results in such demanding locations. Since April last year I have specific budgets for this treatment and am currently operating three Pacopatch crews across the county. We are starting to look at other demanding issues and locations where this material could prove useful."

"Thank-you for the works carried out on the A47 in Rutland. The Pacopatch system was initially undertaken as a trial following observations of works undertaken in Northamptonshire. I would like to say that, so far, the results have been very impressive both in terms of application and the finished results. All of the installed ironworks are still in excellent condition with no noticeable deterioration, settlement or defects requiring attention. I cannot recall a recent contract where we have had zero failures or defect corrections within a 2 year period.

Rutland County Council has subsequently specified the use of Pacopatch on all major resurfacing schemes including major schemes to the centre of Uppingham and extensive sections of the A47. I was particularly impressed with the reinstatement of 3-lid BT chambers on the A47. The level and ride quality is exceptional and have successfully withstood considerable trafficking in the 18 months since installation.

I did face some criticism and questioning regarding the retro fitting of the ironworks and the perceived high cost of the works. Following the completion of the schemes, these concerns have been silenced and the schemes have received praise from my direct line managers, parish Councillors and residents.

Pacopatch has now been adopted as the standard method of reinstatement for all problematical ironworks throughout Rutland. The initial increase in cost is offset by not having to return to areas within the same year, as well as the negative publicity of having to return to the same area within a relatively short period of time".

"Following trials at various locations throughout the West Midlands Region I am pleased to confirm that the West Midlands Highways Authorities & Utilities Committee are happy to see your system used in conjunction with the maintenance of ironworks in the highway. We understand that you have been approached by several contractors and highway authorities with regard to them using your Pacopatch Reinstatement System and we look forward to seeing your system in use on our highways."

"Relating to the use of Pacopatch please find below a number of key areas that we have successfully used the Pacopatch reinstatement techniques:-

Ironwork

To date SSW have completed over 2500 jobs that have utilised Pacopatch techniques. The failure rate has been less than 1% and even these failures can be attributed to other factors, ie poor chamber construction or valve unit failure.

On numerous occasions Pacopatch has been used in areas of extreme heavy trafficked roads that contain valve complexes that have repeatedly failed regularly over years by using conventional asphalt reinstatements. I can provide examples of locations where the traffic management costs alone to keep rectifying these locations have been in excess of £5,000 per site hence in summary we no longer attract these costs, or the costs relating to re-works but more importantly the disruption it has caused to traffic users has now been eliminated.

I have done extensive costs on the use of Pacopatch against conventional techniques and Pacopatch proves efficient and economical in many ways the reason is simple. Clients/engineers never take into account the stealth costs associated with failure and re-works, the waste the administration time and more importantly LA charges that will soon increase due to permit and fixed penalty notices. I am happy to share this data with any interested parties who may think at face value Pacopatch is an expensive job. I believe I can prove otherwise!

Emergency out of hours reinstatement works

We are a 24 hour 365 days a year business. Many of our jobs are reactive and on many occasion they are within busy traffic junctions or major roads. Imagine doing the works and the having to return 6 months later to carry out the permanent reinstatement, because quarries are never open at midnight or weekends!! In summary Pacopatch has provided us with an option to carry out the permanent reinstatement works at one visit, Again the costs savings in providing traffic management, labour and reduced waste have saved us to date upto £40,000.

General road repair

Burst water mains and leaking pipes with inevitably cause potholes in the surrounding roadway. On these occasions we have used Pacopatch to make emergency repairs that fill voids with just the right amount of mastic hence there is no waste! In addition we have used Pacopatch to fill potholes within our Green Lane site. The site is used extensively by class 1 HGV vehicles and to date there have been no failures or re-works. Many of the Pacopatch works were carried out over 5 years ago and infact the adjacent traditional tarmac roadway is breaking away whilst the Pacopatch has not deteriorated in any way. For your reference I have enclosed photographs showing the site and the works carried out.

I am available to discuss any of our works todate with any interested party if you feel it would be beneficial and may help you remove some of the concerns and doubts you have received from potential clients for your product, I fully support its use and to say the least this is in my view the best product on the market to accommodate the above works."
